CESTRIA CLUB RIDES & ACTIVITIES After yesterdays announcement by the Government it has been decided by the committee to suspend all club rides and organized activities due to the Covid-19 situation. As it stands, the advice we have all been given is to keep person-to-person contact to a minimum and we are all aware that this is manifesting itself through the cancellation of mass/group participation events. While the decision to suspend all organised Club events for the foreseeable future is not what we want, we feel we have to do what is best in order to not only to help reduce the spreading of this virus but also to reduce the likelihood that an accident may place increased burden on emergency services. Cestria will not for the foreseeable future be organizing any club events until further notice. We thank you for your support and patience, hopefully we back riding as a club as soon as reasonably possible. Thank you for your understanding. Ride safely

Once again Cestria CC hosted its annual hill climb which was kindly sponsored by John Morfield Ltd for yet another year. The weather was forecast for very wet that morning but thankfully the forecasters got it wrong and by the time the first rider set off the the rain stopped and blue skies prevailed. Although the weather had changed for the better, the early morning rain made the conditions on Peth bank very slippy and with its 20% gradient racers were limited on how much power they could apply and caution needed on the steepest section of the climb. However the competitors still managed some pretty decent times, no course record broken but some impressive times

Both Saturday & Sunday were going to be muddy days. Saturaday NECCL The event saw Kenny Mcllelan, Mark Robinson & Malcolm Marshall taking on Lintz Hall Farm, notoriously recognised in the previous year as a muddy track course and this year was going to be no different. The track was rough bumpy and took in a refreshingly cold stream which claimed our first DNF of the day with a ripped tyre but not the the last incident of the day, luckily no more incidents from Cestria. Well done to Mark & Malcolm for completing the race. Sunday CXNE Now we all know Kirkley is a tough course and round 6 was going to be no different, in fact with a new zig zag complex now built and the wet conditions it was going to be even harder Tough was an understatement, slippy descending, sharp turns and muddy tracks plus banks to run up, luckily all the Cestrians racing today were in the first race and the ground would hopefully hold up for the race. Still very wet and very slippy , thankfully all 4 racers got round safely and completed the race
